88 Toyota Front End

I have a lead on purchasing a 1988 Toyota Front axle with 4.88 and Lock Rite 86-95
I am planning on doing an SAS on my 1996 Taco will the 88 front fit the 1996 taco?
Can I run 37's without breaking or would I be better off going with a D44 font?

Whats a fair price for the 88 Toyota Front with the locker?

Thanks for you input

An 1988 axle is IFS, not solid. Unless somebody swapped an older axle into a 1988 before the seller purchased it? Otherwise a swap on a ifs toyota with a solid toyota axle is pretty much a bolt up with the right kit and enough time.

Wow!

I'm a mini truck guy but I would think the first issue you would run into is the fact your transfer case is a driver side drop and the mini truck is a passenger side drop, assuming that your drivetrain is still stock! You will need an adapter to your trans to run the mini truck axle. Marlin has one. Go to the Tacoma section and start searching SAS* and you'll find everything you ever wanted to know! I would go with the D44 because of the width!

Allpro has a complete link and axle kit for $9000! Pretty nice setup!

but either way I would offer $450 for the axle and see what they say. Bone stock complete axles go for $300 around here. Put a set of 30 spline longs and you should be fine.
