4L80 question
I'm no noob but i have kinda a noob question.
I have a '94 chevy 1500 with the 4L60. Now could i swap in a 4L80 for a direct replacement?? I mean are outputs shafts and such the same?? I would like a beefier tranny and as much as i like mine now i think it'll be going out shortly (got it in water and drained the fluid/changed filter a couple times but ya know how that goes )Anyways i didn't know if the computers and such were different on the shifting or if that makes a difference. I've never messed with computer controlled shit before Thanks Last edited by randy92782; 07-11-2009 at 12:04 PM. |

So i need the 4L80 and transfer case to make this happen?
another possibility. I get tranny/transfer. will it shift right or did the trucks with the 80 have a different computer shifting the thing?? I think i may have to stick with the 60 but that sucks |

my 2wd 4l80e has a 32 spline output, like a turbo 400.
a friend of mine upgraded to an 80 in his 01 1500 and he had to reprogram the computer. i do not know about the older setups like yours though.
