1980-1996 years TTB were D-50, straight axles were D-60. Above that i am not sure.

yes any f250 from 99-04 and the excursion all have a solid 50, in 05 ford went back to 60's for everyone.

the only difference is ring and pinion size(they are both smaller)

I'm at work right now (Ford Shop) and I just got done doing ball joints on a 99' F350 and it has a Dana 50 under it. I've seen lots of single wheel 1999-2001 F250-350's with Dana 50's under them.

This is also wrong in mid 2001 F250's and 350's got a upgrade to a Dana 60.

Lotsa wrong info in this thread.

F350:
80-85 was TTB D44
86-91 was kingpin D60
92-97 was balljoint D60
Not sure on the Stupid Duties as there's lotsa conflicting info out there

F250:
80-9? was TTB D44 (I don't remember the cutoff year)
9?-97 was TTB D50
99-mid 2001 was solid D50
mid-2001 and up is D60

I don't think that's correct the f350's had TTB dana50's under em the f250's got the d44 until later on like you said....I am probably wrong on the 05, 01, d60 thing, although I looked at an 02 crew cab v10 before I bought my 99 and it had a d50 up front. I didn't think everything got the 60 till they switched to coils in 05.....ford does weird shit like the light duty f150 based f250 that (correct me if I'm wrong ) has a 7 lug bolt pattern.

This thread is full of posts that should be deleted.

All 99 and newer "Superduty" DRW fronts were Dana 60's. It wasn't until 2002 that they discontinued use of the Dana 50 in the SRW trucks and they all got the 60 from there on.

The old TTB 50 in 1980 was F-350 only. 1981 was first year for the TTB 50 in an F-250. After 1981, you could have either a 44 or a 50 in the F-250 until 1989. All 1990 and newer TTB F-250's were the Dana 50.

An easy way to identify the 60 from the 50 is the pinion nut. A 1 1/8" nut is a 50 and a 1 5/16" nut is a 60.
