Hrew Cage Question...
K, So I KNOW ( from what the searches brought up ) that HREW is pretty much the weakest tube to use, go figure.. Anywho, i got a great deal for as much of it as I want for 1.50 a ft, so for a trail truck, few rolls here & there, if VERY well braced & built, it should be perfectly fine, RIGHT? Right?? Right...
Your opinion? Edit..Just to clear it up, I'm talking like small rolls, slow speed, nothing major, if anything 1 freak roll down the road sometime... |

HREW isn't the weakest but most will tell you not to use it in a roll cage. Although with the right design it can protect you just was well, but the question is; do you want to risk it?
Now my next question is where are you located? You need to hook me up with some of this tube

What size tube?
I was just quoted as low as $1.15/ft for 1.5 x .120 HREW I would call around to make sure this is actually a deal.

Same size, & wall. I cannot tell the difference myself, & the steel shop just says "steel tube" & if you ask them what kind they look like they seen a ghost..I did however, sell some of the SAME tube recently, & the guy told me it was Hrew. On the downside, my shitty harbor freight knock off wanna be bender kinks the shit pretty easily. I have no idea where to buy poop pipe or trust me, I would.. ( and I dont wanna hear no bs about pipe )

Most of my truck is HREW it works fine, just dont try to do any baja style stuff. Plus, once you build the first one, you wont hold anything back on the next. I say build the first one cheap, wheel the piss out of it till the next one is done!
