A couple dumb questions
Alright, I've searched but the search feature has failed me. I got laid off earlier than I thought and my budget has taken a bit of a hit.
First off, I remember reading somewhere about someone that welded some roundstock on the inside of a 16.5 rim to help hold the tire on the bead. I'm guessing I should use 1/4 inch roundstock, maybe an inch or so back. Anyone hear about doing this or have any advice? Also I wanted to run KC lights, anyone know of anything cheaper that would work well? I don't have headlights anymore, I guess a flood pattern would be best. I was thinking about getting a couple sets of tractor lights, I know my Farmall has 2 lights on it and they work good. Thanks for any help. |

I just checked www.dunebuggy.com. The cheapest lights on there are 119 a pair, I was hoping to spend around 40 or 50 a pair.
I wonder if two of the expensive lights would be brighter than 4 cheap lights? I've seen 100 watt lights at autozone for 50 a pair. We hooked one up to a battery and they seemed bright but had a pencil beam, I want a flood beam. |

I put some cheap ass driving lights on my superduty last winter the small cateye lookin ones, they even have a cool neon glow ring.........anyway they were 20 bucks at surplus city and are brighter than my headlights at night. I say screw those headlights find some cheapo's, buy two sets so you have spares and all is well

That's what I think I'm going to do. I found 2 lights in the barn yesterday that work, I'm throwing them on for right now. There's a flea market I go to sometimes, next time I'm up that way I'll just buy the cheapest ones I can find. I might just leave the ones on I have now if they work good enough. I had more but I think some of them are 6 volt, they lit up super bright then quit.

harbor frieght has offroad lights that work great for $25 a pair had them and worked better than my brights. As far as the wheel thing I would just run beadlocks you can find them on craigslist for about $225 a set. the round stock or square which ever your going to have to get balanced might be difficult ive never heard of anyone using those.
