So I am setting up the front bump stops on my Toyota and as it sits I have 3" untill the axle hits the bump stop. Is this enough? If I go any higher I will run into clearance issues. I am running RUF's and 14" 5150's with a dana 44. This truck will be mainly off road but will be driven on the street from time to time. Thanks ahead of time.
Yes, but what I am trying to figure out is if under normal driving conditions is it going to bottom out all the time. Say I am driving down the freeway and hit a bump, do you think the suspension will move enough to hit the bump stop and make for a shitty drive?
FWIW I set up the rear leafs on my TJ for about 1.5" above the spring pads. It's a little rough on large bumps, but not terrible. The only reason it is so close is my springs are sagged... it will be more like 3.5" when fixed hopefully:laughing:
Set them up for the clearance you need and let it eat.:smokin:
I only have 5 total before I smash my steering arm. So when I get around to putting bumps on mine will be about 2" off the pack.
