link questions

first and formost, i have searched, i need to try to find an explination i understand.

My 3 link with a panhard, its was acting funny, and i cut it all off to start over. Before i cut this time i wanna see if someone can explain to me what went wrong. When ever i went to put it to full droop to charge my shocks, i noticed it was pointing my pinion down bad and binding my u joint. I dont have excell so the calculator is useless to me, and i dont understand it anyway. What would cause it to do that? Upper to long? Mounted too high? More foward? Backward?

this is where im at now. I have 8" sep at the axle, bottom mounts 14.5"from ground about 3 " back from axle center and 25" from the ground at the frame with a 35" link i2i. the upper mounts 22.5" at the axle about 4 " back from axle center and hits the frame at 25" with a 28.5" link i2i. Belly is at 23" and i got 110" wheelbase on aired down 37s.........what say you?

since the pinion points down while drooped, i would suspect that to indicate that the upper is too short.

Your upper link and lower links need to be alot closer to the same length, otherwise its going to rotate the axle.

Build a smaller scale with pvc pipe to test........
