hi guys

i installed a used 8274 winch on my 03 tj
i unwinded all the wire to inspect it and rewind it properly abouthalf way the motor slowed down and stopped motor was cold when it stopped

i can hear the solenoid when i try the remote but nothing on the motor

anyone can help. i checked all wires , all good...
how do i check if the motor is still good

does it work in one direction only or is it dead in both directions?
maybe the brushes are stuck, being used it could have gotten water in there and jacked everything up. try tapping on the motor housing with a hammer (i said tapping, not swinging on it like a monkey!) while holding the remote in 'spool in control', see if it starts working at all.

nop not working in any direction
i did try the hammer thing did not worked
i was winching my jeep in the driveway to rewind the wire when it slowed down and stoped

clean and secure all of the large wire connections and the link bars.

winchs can be funny that way. when i first put mine on i wound it all up at my house, the first time i go to pull its completely dead and i have all my cable stretched, get home and cleaned it all up and it worked fine.
