85 gmc lift question
yeah im new to this forum and 4x4's but i got a 85 gmc 4x4 its stock and just a daily driver. So i got a buddy with some 2.5 lift springs for the front im picking up cheap and was going to just get some 2 " blocks cause it looks kinda ranked out right now.
just need to get some tires so i was going to put some 33's on it so i was also wondering if the lift is needed to put so 33's on it |

I am assuming it is a Full size, 1/2 ton I would say YES you need it with some trimming 3/4 ton just some trimming should work. Do you know who makes the lift?
Do you plan on wheeling the truck or just driving it down the road. The reason I ask some of the lifts are so stiff the only flex you get is from the frame.

i think the are skyjacker 2.5's but i think he said they are 46" im getting them for 75 bucks and i think i could get blocks for 40 bucks so that why im doing it that way but i will check out a junk yard for some 3/4 ton springs
what if i move my rears to the front do i have to buy the b52's or can i go yarding for those too |

I wouldnt recommend running the shorter lift springs. They're rough as all hell(dont ask me how I know). Go yarding for some 52" leafs (rears in a K5 or most fullsize Chevy's) and throw them in front. Then, call up your choice of fab shop (I prefer Dan at Ruffstuff, or Kurt at DIY4X) and order a shackle flip.
The 52's would get you about 3-4" of lift depending on condition of the springs, and would ride MUCH better than store bought lift springs. The shackle flip would GREATLY increase your suspension travel in the back as well as ride.
