Newb lookin for advice with 85 toyota

Hey guys hows it goin, i got a 1985 yota 2wd with a 22r and a 5 spd. just got it from my dad, and i was wondering whats the best way to make it a weekend wheeler but street capable as well. any advice is better then none so shoot me any and all ideas.

how crazy of a weekend wheeler do you want? user on here Pietro has a very thorough (spelling?) build thread, search his name threads he has started. it is very nice as far as what it takes to get a 2wd toy into wheeling shape, it is also on small (31 or 33?) tires and looks very factory at ride height.

also, it depends on what you consider weekend wheeling. link suspension can be very good for daily driving, leaf springs are a bit cheaper, depending on what you have to play with and what skills you possess
