My Willys TJ Build

Figured I'd get a few pictures of my build posted and possibly hear some input on the project! Started off looking okay, but was not period correct and in need of love. A build was set in motion.
This is how she looked before teardown.

And where she sits now.

She got a frame swap from a tj (still in need of some frame fitting.) When finished the willys will be running a Buick 231, TH350, and np231 with dana 44 rear and dana 30 front.

I suppose 'cuz I own one. Stock, except for an early 60s (or late fifties) 283/2BBL. And yeah, 0 to 60 in 60+ years and counting.

But, I have both a Warn overdrive and an AX-15, and the little small-block loves to spin, so freeway speeds may yet happen. Even with 5.38 axles....

Of which, the rear is a Timken. I have a D44 with the same ratio to go in, when I get a round tuit. I also have a nice "dubya" motor - a 409 - I want to add at some point. It's a pretty stock motor, so I don't think it's tear up the drive train.

Happy Trails!
Oliver

HouseOfPain Here's mine finally done 302,T18, dana 20 Spider 9 rear dana 44 front spring under lengthened blah blah. I'm wanting to switch to a 35 skinny tire on stock early cj wheel. Does any body have a pic of that set up with scout 44s. Just want to see if it tucks the tires in enough or too much or just looks goofy with a skinny tire sticking way out. I'm rubbing at full turn with the 37s and 3" BS on my wheels.

New Project

Just picked up this '49

Needs some work, the body looks like it was worked over by a boat guy. It's probably 50/50 fiberglass and steel (not real bad work).

Has the 3B motor which fired up after a tank clean out and new lines. (Can't stand that F'n hole in hood)

Still working on the brakes.

Last tag was 1990, with all the chrome accessories I can definitely say it was reborn in the '80s.

Trying to decied if I should go full stupid (maybe half) or throwback to the 50's.

It sat for a long time. Asked my wife a couple of times if I could buy it. Nope .

I wasn't finished with my '72 Blazer build yet.

mikeg1713 Thanks, I've got a bar off a early cj5 and a full cage I'm building from a Jk unlimited rear bar.
The only time ill put them in is if I go to a jamboree or Rausch Creek off road park.
