This was not the cheapest route to go but my steering ram setup dictated that we had to use a knuckle with the stock ford tierod mounting location. This was the solution to the fact that nobody makes a true ford knuckle. All of the knuckles that I have seen are a chevy casting with the ford spindle pattern drilled into them.
There will probably be more later as well since the car is totally torn down for new motor and prep for KOH. We have a lot of various personal commitments through the next few months so an early start was essential.

Tape is used on all tires that go on the vehicle in the spare location. When coming into a pit the crew should have been notified that there was a flat and a new spare is needed. In the event that radio communication is bad or down the crew only has to look at the tire for the tape, no tape car needs a tire.
Look for a full race recap and press release in the next few days. We're back in CO and going to bed.

Has tape on it, it was the spare. they put tape on the new spares for a few reasons..... I dont know which reasons are true.. I have heard it is so they can write driver info on the tape and I have heard they do you it so they know which spare has not been used...

Way to go 4488!!! they finished 1st on day 2 and 3 and took 2nd overall!!!!
And they stopped a few times to help some of the other racers! Awesome job... So now that You both have spots at the KOH are we going to see 2 Watson rigs there

just fired the motor, topped off fluids, checked for leaks, etc. Still have misc. projects like mounting the jack and a couple of toolbags. We're not going to make the test date with King
And we need to throw all the stuff in the trucks. This racing stuff is a ton of work.

Thanks for the heads up on the shock pulling, I kind of assumed that and having seen Campbell's super sweet gantry I formulated a plan that's about as booty fab as anything we've ever done...
My old swingset was built by my dad to his normal standards - structural way beyond holding up some little kids. Turns out it pulled a couple of motors and hung some meat when we got too old to swing on it and now it's coming out of retirement to pull shocks in the field when combined with a cable come along. I think we'll stick a shorter piece of pipe in the middle to make it 6 feet wide or so but otherwise it should be good to go.
This day was spent on a light mounts, rear bypass shock mounts and some other details like the tail lights, iritrack mount, link arm heims, finishing the knuckle project, screwing the interior back together, etc.
I have some pics but will have to upload later.

Don't worry to much on the EARLY. KING will be there but, don't expect them to roll in at 8:00 like they might have told you. In case they didn't tell you, bring what you need to pull your shocks off. They will be more than happy to work on the shocks but you have to have all the tools to get them off your rig.

It's amazing how much of a job it's been getting all the stuff here and right, it's no wonder the big time racers do it for a job, it's hard to do the day job right even when we're doing most of the work from 6pm to 1am.
