I have asthma and cant hike, could I sue the USFS under the Americans with Disablilties act?
since they are blocking me from being able to access the forest now?
My son and I rode Bowers Cove road in Union County last weekend, and it mostly closed, it used to go on for miles and miles,

|KOH on 37's||
Thanks for the pictures, Billy! Very upsetting to see the condition of Tellico. This is where I started wheeling in the late 90's... my family spent many a weekend in those woods. GREAT memories.
It would take a lot of time and work to get it back into ride-able conditions.
If it ever manages to reopen I know some people who would donate significant money and support to SFWDA and help maintain this amazing area.

I have heard that there are numerous new homes being built all along Davis Creek Rd.
Anyone know if this is true?

have the fish fuckers completely lost track of this or do THEY know that its being logged like this?
or were they just a pawn in this deal to get the land open for logging? and if so, do they know it, and did they go along for the sake of establishing precedence or what?

|YellowjeepCj||Thanks for the pictures. We have heard that we may see a hearing date for sometime this summer. There is a backlog of cases and one of the Judges has or will be retiring which has thrown the schedules off a bit. This is the most recent information I have as of first of the week. Will try to keep you all on notice as soon as we know a date and time specific.|

|zeke6785||Always wanted to go wheel Tellico. I remember watching the old Off Highway Adventures with Rick Russel with my dad when I was younger. Then seeing it on Xtreme 4x4 made me wanna go there even more. This is so sad to hear/see.|

We just drove thru there yesterday. No construction going on nor equipment in the area. The road is not finished, looks like they just ran out of money and abandoned the project.
The old switchbacks are still open and drivable, just the surrounding mountain side tore all to hell

|YellowjeepCj||No word yet on a rescheduled hearing date. I will try to get an update on when we think we will know something this week.|

You can hike anywhere in the Nantahala Forest without a problem..
Where to park , would depend on what section you wanted to go to.

I would like to do this hike for old times sake. Does anyone know the best place to park for a hike of the old Tellico trails.....trial 1 side (NC) or compground (TN) side? Will I be busted by rangers and/or Trouts Unlimited guys?
