Thinkin about picking up a 95 hardbody with a ka24 and a 5spd. What are my options for the stock tcase? What ratio is low? Could I get an atlas to fit? My concern is I have 1 tons to put under it with 5.38's and 39.5's and I'm not sure if the 4cyl can drive them with stock low.
There isnt an atlas adapter for the 4cyl, and I believe NWF's TX-10/D300 doubler kit is only for V6. So pretty much, your stuck with doing t-case gears, which are spendy as fuck.
Low is something like 2.5:1 or something around there.
Oout of stock currently, doesn't matter for v6 or 4 cyl and they are $949.
So question would be i'd have about as much as getting the 3.92:1 gears for the stock tcase as doing a doubler. Which would be better
I believe 4x4 Parts.com is out of their low range gear sets as well. I heard Calmini was out of the SYE as well. Is that correct? Maybe those who purchased those parts when they were available were actually making an investment?
Sounds like a cool build is starting here! Keep us updated. As for the T-Case gears, I can confirm that as of a month Calmini definately isnt planning on having them in stock or cut anytime soon. As for 4x4parts.com, they were able to have the T-Case gears ordered, cut, and mailed out to me within 2 weeks. Give them a try, I've ordered lots of parts from them over the years and have always been satisfied.
