The kit is a Rugged Rocks. It was one of Steven's prototypes . My buddy and I installed it . It works great . I am working with link lengths to try to get 37" tires on it without cutting fenders.
wow thats great. Im going to be useing Ruggeds kit on my pathfinder so i would like to see what you come up with. Ill also be runing 37s and dont plan to cut fenders. Do you drive yours on street?
I do drive it on the street . I sit pretty high . The springs are 8'" front jeep springs that Steven sourced for me. I also have a 3" body lift. I had to hook up rear sway bar because it was a little squirrelly . Now I have no problem driving down hwy at 70 mph. Have you already done SAS ?
I see you found mine. Its far from done. I guess it hasnt started since im starting over with new pathfinder lol. Im glad to see you drive yours one street. I plan to run sway bar. Do you have anymore pictures? Mabey some side shots etc?
Hey its been a while but have you found your link lengths yet to fit 37s? Any more feed back on the 4 link? What are you running for rear springs? I hope all is well.
Just got drive shaft back from shop yesterday. It is now 2" longer. New transfer case gears are in. I had to move rear spring perches . I have been pretty busy so it has been slow. I had to get my wife's samurai set up, so we could take it to Tierra Del Sol down south.(pathfinder was in to many piece's) I was trying to make a slip yoke eliminator . In the long run I gave up and put every thing back together. I think I have it now. I am hoping to have a buddy come over and test fit 37". I think they will fit now. I don't remember the final measurement, I moved it so many time's . I will let you know. I plan on going to Prairie city this saturday and test everything out. I need to make sure every thing is working right so it is ready for GONE MOAB next month.
The rear spring's are 8" skyjacker for jeep Tj front end. I would not use these again. They are to soft not sure what spring rate they are. I think older ford bronco front springs would be better and they would fit right.TJ spring's need to be cut to fit. My next step will be coil over's.
I will post some pics after this weekend.
Thanks! Nice to see you found this site. Send pic's when you start it. I am heading out to test everything out this weekend. Have to wring it out before Moab. Have to see how much better it is with T- case gears.
Remember measure twice. Tack weld then check again.
Cool i cant wait to see what happens this weekend. Im going to call rugged rocks shortly and get 4 link brackets and stuff. I might go strait to coilovers and hope for the best. Ill be checking back this weekend.
OK this is the first run with 4x4 parts 3.8-1 transfer case gears. It is way better then stock. Still not happy with overall on it though. I would recommend atlas 5-1. I will do that later, when money is available.
I think the rear suspension is pretty dialed in now. At least I am happy with it. There again if I was doing it over I would go with coil overs. It drives down road well. FINALLY, but needs rear sway bar very washy feeling in any type of corner. I will need longer rear bump stops if I am going to fit 37" tires. 33" stuff the entire wheel well. I might have to change exo so I can cut fenders out.
I like it.
I found on mine today that I am going to have to really trim the fenders to fit 37". I am disappointed about that. I really did not want to cut the fenders being the rear door is already close to edge of it.
Mine will get trimmed too! and the bump stops will be taller. The way it is they are rubbing pretty much the whole way around.
