i just purchased a 74 620 4x4. suspension is a lil weathered, i want to
update it and i am wondering what would be the best/easiest
axle setup, spring/shock setup, steering upgrades,? it has a stock
datsun rear dif, im told a dana 30 front dif, i guess pretty typical
4x4 setup from the 1970's. the previous owner did add gm disc brakes
to the front, i want it to be able to drive on highway and town
and do some respectable wheeling. any info helps
thanks

It maybe difficult to match up gear ratios front to rear...
Datsun pickups had 4.375 rear ratios with an occasional 4.875 on the earlier ones. Some auto trucks had a 4.63something gear.
I purchased a full width D44 from a member here with a 4.88 r&p already in it that matches a datto 3rd member that I have on the shelf.

The Datsun rear ends are generally reliable to around 250 ft/lbs of torque in 2wd, and a little less with the alloy 3rd members.
Im looking for a matching D44 to put in the back and inboard mount some longer and stronger leaf springs...or maybe some Nascar style truck arms mounted on top of the axle and coil springs with a panhard bar.
