i'm thinking about doing a rear spare tire holder on my rig, i'm just curious what you all think about the receiver style setups. I will be making it myself, and I was planning on doing the slip in receiver so that I can take it out. Anyone done this? things not to do?
On my 89 Pathy, it sucked, it rocked back and forth and you could feel the "tail shalking the dog" going down the highway, if you do it, build in a bolt or something to take the slack out of the hitch. Its just an old toyota rear axle shaft welded to some square tube.
yeah i was wondering if it wobbled at all... good idea on the old axle for the tire mount! I love it when people make stuff like that. I'm still working on a plan for this, considering just doing a regular swing out, we'll see....
thanks for the help
