pathfinder rear axel

I have an axel out of an 87 nissan pathfinder. Is it worth anything?

Should be an H233b and it's the best axle Nissan has built. This has a 233 mm diameter ring (9 1/3")and it's bigger than a 8" Toy's and pretty close to a Dana 44 in overall resistance.

axle shaft size ??

Does anyoneknow the axle shaft diameter for the h233b axles?

Also, is there an identification tag anywhere on the axle that says the gear ratio?

The 2000ish and up 33 spline axles are 1.31"
The rest are 31 spline and 1.26"

Hmmh, interesting. Thank you very much for that info.

I'm looking at one out of an 89 pathfinder for less than $100. I'm debating whether it'd be a good swap into my 90 Toyota. The big diff and the disc brakes looked attractive, but I think that shaft size is actually smaller than a Toy shaft.

Actaully their best axles live in the 97 and onward patrols .. how does a 10.5 inch ring gear with 37 spline 1.51 inch axles sound .. the H260B (from memory) .. comes in Manual 4.5 and 4.8 litre GU patrols ans well as some of the 4.2 and 3.0 litre patrols.

So how much for a set boxed and shipped to some port on the East coast of the US? Maybe one of those nifty diesel engines too.

Probarbly more than it would cost to toss a dana 70 under it .. the motor and box are fawking heavy (Gearbox and t/case weigh in @ around the 220Kg mark ... )
No idea what the 4.2 diesal weighs .. apparently it is about the same as the 6.X diesal V8 from the humvee
