I know of a number of Nissans that have done the Rubicon, including an R50 unibody Pathfinder.
Get over yourself. You're probably the typical type I see on trails regularly with a big, built, and broke truck. I usually wave when I go by. The run itself sounds fun. Am using my vacation on our annual Arizona run in March tho. Woodpecker, Ajax, Martienez Mine, Hackberry creek to name a few....all 3.5-4.5 rated trails that a group of IFS Nissans will tackle. Come back and tell us who broke.

I don't have to. We prove it on Arizona trails most weekends already. Why do I want to go on a trail run with a bunch of jackasses that look down on what I drive because it isn't a jeep or whatever? I'd rather wheel with people who can go out to have fun regardless of what you drive.

Gotta say, I don't know of too many Nissans capable of such a run. An R50 isn't gonna finish this run.
Mine needs more street legal stuff to attempt something like that...

Why not just go on the run. It will be fun, and you can actually prove that your trucks are worth something to some of the big boys, not just random passers by in AZ. It would be good for your rep.

Only get so much time off in a year. We do a sponsored week long run in March here in AZ (see Nissan4wheelers.com for more info), and I'm going elk hunting in Wyoming this fall. The rest of my vacation goes to the wife and kids.
My reputation is intact. I've got 4 years of aftermarket sponsored Nissan events that I've put together, as well as attending EJS/GONE Moab last year, and helping to put together runs in Colorado and California over the past 3 years. The run does sound like a challenge though.

Hey D-RAT,
I didn't mean your rep, I meant the Nissan rep. No disrespect intended, if it came across that way. I would just like to see more Nissans out with the big runs.

Guys around here are surpised to see where we go in IFS trucks running minimal lift, some with lockers, gears, and armor. We all pretty much drag these trucks through the rocks, but we sure have fun doing it.
Buck, no offense taken. Check out the Tire Tracks forum on our site for pics.

Man I would really like to do this but it depends on me finishing my SAS, being off of school and if I end up moving to california. Lots of things would have to go right. Plus I need a trustable co-driver
I want to see one of us do it. Any ideas who can? If I don't end up doing it, I'll pitch a few bucks for gas to whoever does (N4W forums should start a colection for sponsorship). Andy, your rig would be well suited to doing this race, if you can keep up on the trail, you could probably make up alot of time on the road. Your truck would probably be the least likley of any of the rigs to get pulled over too. Calmini's hardbody has cleaned the rubicon a few times, maybe we could convince Steve to do it. Rich And besides, the run is for those that want an adventure, not fore those with a chip on their shoulder Have fun, we will

I'm 100% sure that the both of you are really good drivers and rig builders, so you two would probably get along really well in person. I'll go wheeling with anyone so long as they respect me, respect the trail and know how to have a good time. I don't care if you have a stock rig or a comp buggy, domestic or import, newb or vetran, wheeling is wheeling and the reason all of us get into it is because its fun and it pushes my buttons when people forget this. |

I will admit here that for years I drove an 83 Dodge D50 on trials all over Utah. Cedar City, 3 Peaks, Moab, St. George, Cat Canyon, etc... But I never let it bug me what people though, I just kept up or lead the way and let them follow. Anyway, I will always be out there trying to stir the pot and create interest in our sport, for all to enjoy Rich

Rich, sorry...it just gets old being beat on because we wheel Nissans. There's no chip on my shoulder...ask anyone in the Nissan crowd that knows me.
If not for day jobs, I'd be out for every one of these runs all year long and all over the country. I keep telling my wife she needs to win the damn lottery..... I'll get my junk posted up when the SAS is done.
