93 Pathfinder

Hello,
I am new and wanted opinions and thoughts on the 93 pathfinder. I am looking at one tomorrow. It has about 200k on the chasis but the motor was replaced with a engine that has about 80k on it, it is an auto full power, cold ac, etc. He is asking 2k but I am sure I can offer him a bit less. What will I need to look out for, what is the intervals of water pump and timing belt, what should I look for and what questions should I ask?. Any input would greatly be appreciated.
TIA

The main thing to check is rust in the rear; on the frame in the wheel well area and under the back seats. Timing interval on a93 motor was 60k but later motors bumped up to 90k, since it's been replaced you'll have to check.

Otherwise they are pretty sound. Most "big" problems are with wiring, but they all have simple fixes. Like the starters and the MAF sensors tend to get funny, but some quick rewirring on them and they are solid.

The only other thing to check would be the rear axel. If it has an LSD it's probably shot, they wear quick, but the clutches can be replaced. Also if it has LSD, you can't switch to a locker. Lockers will only go into the open carriers.(Also the opens have 4.63 gear ratio)

I would also pay special attention to the tranny. Since it is an automatic get it looked at because when they fail they're expen$ive!! Mine crapped out at 90k miles and was $2200. My coworkers died at 93k and cost him $2800 to replace.

My Pathfinder has a body lift and thats why I saved $600 in labor vs. my friends truck.

My gas milage isn't typical, because I got rid of the crank fan and have an electric which made the engine more efficient. But I get 18-24mpg depending on time of year and Hwy vs city. Most people get 16-20 from the ones I've talked to about it.
