Nissan Motor Swaps?

I just got an 85' Nissan 720 that needs a motor and trans. I was just wondering what is a popular swap for these trucks I am new to Nissan's and don't know anyone else who has one. I am probably going to go with a V6, other than that I am not sure.

You can put alot of different stuff into it. There might be some adapters available to fit something into it, but I suggest you just custom install anything you want. Take measurements and see what is out there. I have always thought about a Vortec4.3 v6 swap with the trans and tcase, and the entire fuel management system. You could make it smog legal and there is also a aftermarket for them that includes items to make it very fast.

only a small block but ya you can fit an 8. they make adapters for them. not much would make one of those very fast. you could take a crate 350 tpi or ram jet or something. that would be cool.

well a 90 pathy is a lot different than a 720. the 720 has a lot of room under their, and tell your friend he's just a b*tch that is too afraid to try something. you can fit a small block in an xterra for cryin out loud. 90 pathy to 350 would be an easy swap. the only thing might be a radiator relocater.

distributor will hit the firewall, but it's been done. There is a guy in grand junction with a HB with a 350 in it. He has raced it at bandimere.

Hey there...

A Z-car engine is very doable... Look up Patz's posts at www.nissanoffroad.net for some recent info on his 720. Another option...

I have done a ton of these swaps with no problems at all. The disty doesn't hit the firewall with the right mounts. Our kit comes with all the tech and nice big install pics and all the part numbers for everything you need. We also do Isuzu and Mitsu D50's

Check the thred below for Nissan mounts
