I've heard that they are completeley bullet proof. There about as strong as a ford 9" rear end I've heard of peole turning 38's and not having any problems. I have a 94 XE v6 4x4 hardbody and i have 4.375 for gears. Its on cardomain.

It's a pretty tough diff, 233mm ring gear (over 9") and 31-spline 1.26" axle shafts. Factory gear ratios are 4.375 and 4.625, with anything from 4.11 to 5.14 available, but expensive at $450 and only made by Nissan, no aftermarket makers at all.
Factory LSDs are available, and the ones for that era are actually tuned pretty well. No factory locker. There is the Powertrax LockRight available as well as the Detroit, but they're only for the 4-pinion 2-piece open carrier, which your 4x4 should have. |

They are somewhat they are beefy axle shafts from what I remeber when I pulled mine they do neck down. Remeber to change the wheel bearings when they go bad they create alot of heat and weaken the axle that's when they break.
I would just score some diffs out of a automatic 4x4 most of those tend to be geared at 4.625 and come factory with a LSD. The axle code on the door plate or firewall will be HG46 for the h233b axles. Why are you using nissan axles? You can get alot more aftermarket for toyota 30 spline axles plus regearing is alot cheaper.

If you have it in socal, it's worth thousands. In NY, maybe a couple hundred.

These rearends are in hot demand in the right circles.. check on 4x4parts.com, nissan4wheelers.com, and nissanoffroad.com There are folks on all of those sites that might be interested. Going price is around $200-300 for a decent complete axle. If its a disc brake axle, mabye more.
