Here's my '08 Titan. It definitely looks like a mall crawler, but actually did halfway decent at Uwharrie. Once I find myself a more fuel efficient DD, I plan on making this more off-road orriented. Keeping the chrome wheels to fool all the jeep guys.

[QUOTE=theRockHopper;14250901]These pictures are Fake.
I've built this buggie a thousand times in my mind. Some day I WILL build it. What would be the best automatic Transmission to use behind the stock 3.OL (VG30D or VG30DTT)? [QUOTE] I've been using the VH45 trans (which is the same as the VG30DETT trans) behind a turboed VH45 (375 rwhp) and it handles it very well. The trans from the VG30DE is the same as a Pathy and is too light to cope if you plan on driving hard. Last edited by darinz; 04-16-2012 at 09:35 PM. |

92 Pathfinder
Picked this up for my girl right before I left. 92 Nissan Pathfinder XE. Dana 44 SAS, 4.88 Calmini Gears, Detroits front and rear, 4:1 t-case, new clutch, XRC 9000 lbs winch, Bilstien shocks, Custom front bumper, sliders and am still waiting on receiving the rear tire carrier/bumper. Has Solid front axle cover, 15 inch Alcoa wheels, 37 inch Xterrains, heavy duty shock hoops, 3 10" Momo subs in custom box, 2 amps, steel braided brake lines. Can get 17 mpg doing 75 on the freeway! I installed a hand throttle the first 2 days I had it. Already had it out. Lacks power even though it has the V6. Probably do a 3.4 supercharged gm motor swap later. It needs hydro-assist badly! Weak stock pump with detroits makes it nearly impossible to turn. Overall I like it though. Thing flexes very well and she almost outwheeled me on her first real run! Went through Gold Mountain, John Bull and Holcomb in about a days worth of wheeling, maybe a little more.

Thanks, she is beautiful. The truck does look good too! I'm forturnate to have found someone that likes to crawl her own rig. We are planning on hitting up the Dusy when I return from this gay deployment. Would be trying to do the trip in the beginning of October. Been reading alot on going in that time frame, nothing I see worries me. But I have some friends that have told me I could be getting myself into trouble with weather. Any input?

Little vid of her on Gold Mtn . Is there a 4:1 kit for the stock t-case on these? I think the guy may have lied to me. Case looks stock and engine needs alot of rpm when letting the clutch out to crawl. New to Nissans so anything will help. Thanks.

Yes there are lower gear sets for the TX10 transfer case in your rig. There were actually 2 companies that made them for a while and as far as I know, both are out of stock and production. Those companies were/are http://www.4x4parts.com and http://www.calmini.com Not even sure how you tell if you have them or not without driving it. Good luck.

Sweet, thanks. The kid said it had the kit but he bought it from a friends Dad who built it. Dude won't give me the builders number though. Gotta respect that I guess. Problem is the kid isn't too familiar with 4x4 parts and aftermarket names so he gets them all mixed. Pretty sure it's a Calmini set up. Thank you very much.

I installed 4x4 parts 3.7 gears a couple months ago. They work great.You would not know if gear set was installed in T-case because there is no visible difference. 4x4 parts have gear set in stock . Cal mini is the other company that had the gear set, but they no longer stock them.
