i was at a swap meet over the weekend and picked up what looked like a nissan third w/ an LSD. i dont know much about nissan stuff so do any of you nissan guys know what its worth and does anybody need one.

Im sure there are plenty of people that need them.. the big factor is what is the gear ratio? If it isnt stamped on the ring gear just divide the teeth on the ring gear by the teeth on the pinion...

Uh, an LSD isnt worth as much as an open. Most people who would bother changing the diff will want to put in a locker. Generally an open diff in good shape might sell for $150 or so, I have not seen many LSD diffs but one was $75. This is all for 31 spline applications.

If its a 33 spline, An LSD would probly bring $100 or so with an open bringing less. There is not a lunch box locker for the 33 spline to create a reason to buy an open diff.

Generally the LSD carriers sell for about$50-70, but the whole 3rd should get you about $100 or so.

Find out the ratio, AND the year. They switched to lighter breakaway after 02 i believe, so more people would prefer the earlier years LSD's.

ill look at it again tomorrow, i know that its a 33 spline though. and if its an open carrier its not like on that ive seen before, but i did see spider gear lookin teeth inside the carrier. i dont know if thats how the LSD is supposed to be bt i thought they had clutch packs.
