the shaft will be a replica of a 31 spline D21 shaft but we'll be eliminating the neck-down at the spline and making it a 1.31" 33 spline rather than a 1.26" 31 spline.

Therefore the wheel end of the shaft will be a replica of the factory shaft... you will then still be able to do a disk conversion.

If you are replicating the d21 shafts then they will not fit in anything after 1998. The 33spl axles are longer then the 31spl shafts.

Yes I know. replicating a 31 spline shaft and giving it 33 splines.

So, if one gets made for 33spl trucks (with the wider axles) with a disk break conversion, i would be in.

For the later model trucks, the pathy to Hb disk break conversion does not work.

Looks like you can swap backing plates and upgrade to discs plug and plug style.

h233 use the same bearing retainer outside dimensions.

The 33 spline axle shaft is 1.31 similar in size to a 30 spline Dana 44 and toy 8" axle shaft. I know you guys love the whole Nissan thing but as far as rear axles go Nissan rears cannot be upgraded to larger shafts while other axles can.

h233 chromoly versions should be good enough for me. I still have not broke a stock waggy axle.

I wish we could get those here. Looks like we will have 31 and 33 spline chromoly axles soon. Surprised no one in OZ makes chromoly stuff for the patrols.

these chromoly shafts are cheaper than trying to locate/rebuild an H260 here in america, mate.

I like they way you think Steve. Hi pinion h233s would be awesome. I wonder if they use the same gear set as the R50 R200.

I doubt the R200 gears would fit. thats a 33mm (1.3") difference in ring gear size.

HP H233s Fr&Rr with the 5.38's, 33-spline chromos... would be nice

I know the H260's are beefy but in my opinion just too big for a streetable rig.

who would be interested in a set of chromo 31-spline H233B shafts within the next 6 weeks or so?

Anyone for 33-spline in the next 6 weeks?

Lock right is going to make a 33spline version. Is that why you want 31 spline? ARB is already available both sizes.

Where did you here about the lock right for a 33 spline? I would love to finally get rid of my welded rear without having to spend 800 bucks on an arb. I would be interested in a set of 33 spline axleshafts for the late model h233b but i want a set of 5.38's to go with it... i see no need for upgraded shafts unless i can get some gears as well, and ac gears are out of the question at their asking price.

The 33-spline lock-right is true. i'll be sending out more updates via newsletters as NissanNut said.

So with that said, how about some 33-spline chromos & a lock right?

oh and H233B 5.38's are getting R&D'd right now...

I tried to click on the news letter sign up and it said page not found?

I would by the gears lock rite and possibly the shafts as soon as they are availiable. So who ended up making the first set for r and d? was it superior...
what kind of time frame are we looking at before these would be going into production.

Sorry about all the questions, I need to regear my front end befor a meet next month but if these are going to be out by the end of the year i will put off the trip so as not to have to regear twice. I really appreciate you putting the time and effort into the nissan stuff, keep up the good work.

Here's another option:

Dana 70 spindles and hubs, factory 70 shafts custom splined to fit 33 spline side gear. If these shafts break, aftermarket blanks could be resplined to 33, likely cheaper than custom made Nissan semi-float shafts.

Of course, you have to find someone canibalizing a full float axle for rear steer, or go cut one up yourself.

I don't have a release date for the Lock-Right but it is in the works.

The H233B gears are being done by Richmond.

The shafts would be by superior. They already have the drawings ready to go for the 31-spline pathfinder/hardbody. I'd like to have 4 people pre-order shafts before I hit the 'Go' button for production. from there it takes 6 - 8 weeks to get the shafts. Same goes for the 33-spline but drawings still need to be done.

What is the diameter of the shafts you are talking about?

A factory shaft is 1.5 at the splined end and 1.31 (1 5/16") from the splines to the flange. This meant we really weren't loosing much strength compared to a standard 35 spline axle. In theory, this setup should be stronger than a 30 spline dana 60 rearend, which is also 1 5/16".

An aftermarket blank, such as one supplied by Yukon would be 1.5" throughout.
