Just depends on what you want your truck to do. If your driving it daily and not doing a lot of wheeling then keep the IFS. Check out calmini.com or 4x4parts.com.

That's with me too but with my 91 d21 I can fit 33x12.5r15 under it as it set but I'm going to keep the 31s for the mpg

ok so upon closer inspection the front suspension is pretty tired. the bushings are toast.

What is the best route to go for a daily driver. that sees a fair amount of trails on the weekend

Is calmani the only co. that builds front suspension arms for the D21?

how difficult is it to eliminate the torsion bars? or should I keep the bars?

Thanks guys

Superlift and 4x4parts also have lifts for them. IFS only lives so long though, I spent a lot of money repairing an replacing parts on my IFS that could have went into a SAS.

I had 33's and was open in the front, and had to replace the whole steering system, broke 4 tie rods, sheared numerous stud bolts, blew up a warn hug, blew up a stock manual hub, and finally pulled one of the a-arm bolts out of the frame.

A leaf sprung SAS with a waggy axle is just so easy, its almost not worth messin with the IFS, at least IMO.

SAS it. It will last longer as a DD & weekend wheeler. IFS becomes a never ending money pit that never really performs how you want it. You can SAS that truck for close to the same as buying all the bolt on IFS lift/steering crap.

My Xterra has better road manner with a solid axle than it did towards the end of it's IFS days.

I had a 88 pathy that bent the tie rods with 31s. My 00 Fronty did the same same. But if you SAS it you're into it for quite a chunk of change and then it seems silly to sit on 31in tires. And you'll never see your investment returned if you sell it.
So i guess go easy on the IFS and replace all bushings or...
Nice find either way.

Good advice. thanks man. any idea on how much time and money it will take to replace all the bushings?
