Dicks Sporting Goods Remighton 700 ADL Varmint - $450

Picked one up from Dicks yesterday for $500 with a $50 mail in rebate. It has the 26" barrel, "tactical" stock and the X-Mark trigger. I love teh trigger, I'm sure there is better out there but to me this thing is crisp as hell and breaks real clean, light pull too. I got the .308 but they had .223 and 22-250. It comes with a cheap scope, mount, and rings. I left the scope off and put a Simmons ATV I have laying around on it, still need to find something better, and a wal-mart bipod till I can order a nice short one. Shot 20 rounds of cheap remighton ammo through it and shot about a .75-1 inch group at 50 yards. For me and my limited rifle shooting this is awesome. All the reviews I've read show people that can actually shoot shotting .75 MOA at 100 yards out the box and .50 MOA with good ammo and a good free floating stock.

I want to paint the stock Black (I cant stand the camo) and at some point would like to cut the barrel down to 20" and have it threaded.

I think I'm going to go with the Super Sniper 10x42 scope.... For $300 all the reviews have been great.

I have the Bushnell 3200 Elite and its a pretty good scope. About the same as the super sniper but I think its cheaper.

I've had a couple of the Bushnell 3200 10x scopes. They can't be beat for the money. It's no Leupold or Nightforce, but they can be had for $200 or less at times.

Yeah I'm seeing that...

Also looking at the Millett TRS-1, I'm liking the illuminated rec for coyote hunting.

Seems like a good enough deal.

Cheaper than my damn PBR.

I prefer the Super Sniper over the Bushnell by leaps and bounds. As a matter of fact, I think the Super Sniper non-HD 10x is the best glass available for a precision rig for under 500bucks, maybe more.

If Gozuki cant do it, I have read positive things about Hooper on other gun boards, I have never used his services though.

I was in Cabela's the other night and saw a rack of Bushnell Elite 4200's in 3-9x40 and 4-12x40 for $199. I'm thinking I might go back and grab one. If you have a store nearby, might be worth looking to see if they have any. I didn't check online to see if they have them there for the same price.

If you can remove the barrel from the receiver, ask GoZuki. He isn't an FFL so you can't send him the receiver.

If you can't remove the barrel I charge $80 plus $15 return shipping. Remove stock and scope before sending to me.

I am sure a couple of other guys on here do also.

That is a great deal on the rifle. Better than I can do through my suppliers

The SS scope has got to be one of the best 10x on the market for the price point. One thing that always amazes me is how well even a used one sells for.

I have no way to remove it and would not trust myself too do it anyway.

I'm happy. I know its an ADL but for me its great. Best I can tell Remington makes it only for dicks. I can't believe how much I enjoy shooting it.

As far as I knopw, the only real difference between the adl and bdl is the blind magazine versus the floor plate.
Brownells makes a conversion kit.

Thoughts on Millet TRS-1 for this rifle? I found a good deal on a used one from someone I trust.

Mueller APT or APV.. at 9 power it's just as clear, bright, and crisp as my VXII... at half the price. it's sat on one forum members .50 cal for some time and never changed zero or failed. An excellent scope for the money IMO...

Some say the TRS-1 isn't as good as a VXII.. Most say the nikon Monarch over the VXII... I personally have never used the Millet or the Nikon in question. Just passing along some info I've read from a few different places.

Clarity is a very subjective subject, and a very small part of the optics equation.

There are bargains to be had, but 99.99% of the time, you get what you pay for in optics. The scope is half the price for a reason, and its not because the Leupold is overpriced twofold.

If I may, I'd like to ask you to mention any personal interaction you've had with the scopes in question. Blanket statements add nothing to a thread...

I agree, the Leupold is a very nice scope and priced properly. And yes, you DO get what you pay for, however. In this case, the Mueller scope performs well above it's price range and IMO on par with the VXII. And on par with a $500 .75-1moa rifle.

[jeremy clarkson]...Then again some people believe Leupold vx7's, S&B's, USO, and NF's should be on every rifle to leave a factory and if anything less is put on a rifle it should be punishable by death and the scope should be demolished.[/jeremy clarkson]

As for "subjective" I don't know whats subjective about it, I looked through two scopes, at the same object at the normal times of day I'd be shooting both rifles, and found no noticeable difference using my eye. If my eye can't notice it, I really don't give a hoot WHAT the MFG's claim... Obviously sending the Mueller to 14x dims down the level of light, but it's still an excellent scope and it beats the pants off the competitions in the comparable price range.

Thats my thinking. I could put a $5000 scope on this gun.... it's still gonna shoot .75-1 MOA.
