Saw an Akkar auto 12 gauge today for a decent price. It has a 3 1/2 inch chamber, ported and solid camo. Never heard of them and am coming up black on the web. Anyone have any opinions on these?

How good a deal?

I am seeing them for $520 online and what little info I can find on them says they are turkish junk.

The Stoeger 3500 is only about 15 bucks more and I hear good things.

I can get it for 454.00 and I plan on running 3" oo buckshot through it. I use 12 gauge for a little bit of deer hunting and fox and coyote only. Seemed like a pretty solid gun and looked a lot like a benelli SBE. I really don't want to spend a ton of money on a shotgun I will use to beat back briars and shit and run buckshot through it.

Check out the Stoegers. I haven't heard a single bad thing about them and they are cheap. The 3500 is like $535 and chambers 3.5" shells. The 2000 chambers 3" shells and you can get it for $460 in camo, 40 bucks less in black.

Stoeger makes a good gun.

If you want a 3.5" autoloader for cheap, pick up one of the Russian Baikals.

Aren't the Stoegers Turkish as well?

Stoegers are made in Turkey. They are owned by Beretta. Beretta also owns Benelli (which is why the Stoeger shoties are almost identical to the Benellis), Franchi, Uberti and some others that escape me right now.

I own a Stoeger Cougar. Fantastic gun. Probably the smoothest running hand gun I have ever shot. If I was in the market for a 12g I wouldn't hestitate to buy a Stoeger. Alas I already have two semi-autos, Saiga and Beretta.
