Besides feeling very very strange, I bet it's a hoot to shoot. Solves the issue of .45 being the largest caliber for CCW, and you get one squeeze double taps. Intersting indeed.

I don't know what to think about it. Is it considered a pistol, or an AOW, or what? One trigger, two bullets, or individual triggers or what?

I don't know how they are getting around the 2 shots with one trigger pull thing, but I'd like to shoot it.

I would say it has to be considered a machine gun or whatever they actually call it. >1 bullet per trigger pull. Still not as bad ass as the 1740.

it's not a machine gun. The BATF might try to say it is by NOT using their definition, but using their definition "automatically" simply removes this from being a machine gun.

back when guns were more evil, some double-barreled shotguns were machine guns due to this misreading of saying one trigger pull multiple shots.

the ATF further explains that a machine gun is "a device that, when activated by a single pull of the trigger, initiates an automatic firing cycle that continues until the finger is released or the ammunition supply is exhausted."

Would connected hammers but separate triggers make the ATF happy?

You'd have to pull both triggers to drop the hammer, but only one shot per trigger.

connected hammer and trigger... but that is what I don't like is the connected EVERYTHING. Nifty toy but too many long term variables linked together that may eventually end badly
