As you can see, my Heritage Rough Rider .22 is not that bad looking for the $129 bucks it cost from Classic Arms, the finish is no Ruger single six, but it also did not cost me $400 plus dollars either.
![]() The Davey Crickett is very toy like, its a youth single shot rimfire rifle, it will be my CB Long sniper truck gun. The Rough Rider is a hoot to handle, I hope it shoots well, its fawking pouring buckets here so I am getting a bit anxious to go plink at some cans right now. I will report back with accuracy and function when it stops raining here. If you have any questions or want a certain picture of a component, ask and you shall receive.

EDIT: I only did two tries, I need snap caps or an empty shell to perform a five string test. I was pussy fingering the gauge with these two tries, look at the difference, with the empty shells as snap caps I will take a better gauge reading. ![]() first. ![]() second.

Nice. Thanks. I filled out the papers on mine just now. I touched "it".
I hate waiting. The FFL showed me a Stainless Ruger Blackie in 44 mag, but I am not appreciative of fine Finish, unless it's a wine or a Scandinavian Blonde.Where are you that it is pouring cats and dogs ??

I shot all the ammo I brought, I killed every piece of tossed out litter I found laying about. I literally had a blast. The only thing I wish was that I had bought one sooner, and I wish I would have splurged a lil' more money and bought the 9 round model. I plan on shooting a 550 bulk box of CCI Blazers on Sunday, this time I'm going to take my bore snake along, the rounds were getting a little sticky to extract due to carbon buildup in the cylinder chambers from those dirty short cased CB's and Colibris...I had absolutely no malfunctions with my Rough Rider in all the 200 rounds I shot, other than sticky extraction from the carbon buildup from the cruddy ammo I was shooting, I really enjoyed shooting this six gun. ![]() I need to get one of those metal targets to plink at, I think I could spend hours shooting at one. http://www.grafs.com/retail/catalog/.../productId/707 ![]() .

I got one of these on sale for $9.99. It's fun taking time to have different patterns to time. You shoot the lower ones and they flip up and stay on the bar, then you hit the top one and they all flop back down. Bad thing is if you hit the shaft beside the target, you will knock down the tack weld and they will shift to the side.

You need this:
http://www.midwayusa.com/product/744...ap-steel-black Then you can shoot at home, indoors...be sure to open a wimdow and place a fan next to it to exhaust the fumes... Does anyone else have issue with how SMALL the loading area is on the cricket rifles?

I almost picked one of those up today but they were 199 online at Gander Mtn. and I didn't feel like driving to the store to actually touch one.
I want to teach the kids to shoot and I like the idea of the truck sniper gun. =) I gave my H&R .22 to Stepad to handle his raccoon problem. Been wishing I'd hung on to it. Just saw that Florida changed the law regarding target shooting in State WMA's to make it legal. (House Bill 45) Now I don't have to deal with the kids getting rushed or intimidated at the range. |

My hands are huge, I am going to have to have some serious patience loading and ejecting with this little crickett rifle. I see your rifle is wayyyyyyy better built, my crickett has plastic parts where yours are metal. Look at my pics and see the difference in the bolt.

The kids rifle I posted is 40 year old Sovereign. Wide open loading port.
Look at this Winchester from the 1930s...

If you keep posting pics of old skool .22's, I'm gonna end up cruising pawn shops in the morning for a couple of ole classic single shooters.

I will find out Sunday, I just picked it up today and only shot the rough rider. I really don't know how the crickett operates yet, if yours ejects, then I think mine would too, I hope.

When I was a kid my father bought me a Chipmunk .22, now known at the Cricket. Later on he got me a Ruger single six with the .22mag cylinder also. I still have both of them and my kids now shoot them. They have been great little guns and fun shoot.
As a child, maybe 5, I remember hunting with my father. I carried my Chipmunk and he had in 30-06, we were deer hunting. We left camp on foot and took a long walk, half the day or more I think. Came across an old cabin, rocks were all that was left but you could make out what it was. Very close to that was a mine and some old track and equipment for mining. I remember that trip very well, target shooting my Chipmunk at camp, taking the long walk with my father, him teaching me how to walk with my rifle, being safe, talking about life as a child, one of the few memories that I can still remember now as an adult. I have to say, that little Chipmunk has been a great gun through the years. It was given to me in the early 80's and is still in great shape today. It brings me happy memories as a child and I hope someday it will do the same for my girls. Oh, and .22 caps in that little rifle is perfect for in town varmint control. LOL

Old room mate had a cricket and that was fun plinking in town with the shorts in it. Went to go buy the pink one today for my daughter and no place here in town carries them
