new holster, taurus 454
I received my new holster today from "Simply Rugged", its a sourdough pancake for a taurus raging bull 454 5in. So far i like it although its still a little stiff. I payed $70 shipped to my house. yes i know the pics suck

Cause shooting a charging lion or water buffalo is the only reason I can see for carrying a .454 daily...

I live in illinois there is no such thing as carrying anything daily.

Simply rugged holsters are built tough, I have one for my Ruger GP100 .357 and love it.

Looks like a stout holster, how thick is the leather? Would you mind giving an update after it gets broken in?

Leather is at least 3/16"s. I have a few of his holsters. Only way to go. They aren't pretty, though.

My problem with wearing nearly any type of leather is that I have an allergic reaction to chromium sulfate, which seems to be used in the processing process for leather. It'll break me out like poision ivy or a decent rash. Sucks, cause I really don't like plastic holsters. I'd love to have a good, comfortable holster though, it'd be a lot better than my back pocket.

I dont like how the top extends past the cylinder (~1in) i may cut it down later. It isnt broken in yet, but 4 hours of carry have helped alot.
