tactical load bearing vests for bigger guys.
I am a big ole boy and need a good tactical rig, preferably one that will work with ak magazines. I am 6'3", 300+ lbs and never get asked "wheres the beef".
I dont mind spending a few dollars on this and would prefer something that can be worn over winter clothes and or body armor. what you guys got for me.

Ask Larry Vickers what he uses. He's a big fella. Honestly a lot of your mil spec IBA and LBE are sized to work together. A large LBV should fit over a large IBA. You could easily spend over $1k on the really nice sets (level 3a with plate pockets). ESAPI plates are spendy too. I would recommend getting an IBA with the quick exit setup. Not just for danger close/ holy shit I'm on fire scenarios, but also for the hot humid heat stroke get me outta this thing scenarios. Also, most are adjustable within a size range to fit over cold weather clothing. Remember though, an IBA will trap a lot of body heat, so a combat shirt with insulated sleeves will likely keep you as warm as your favorite carhart jacket. I would not reccomend getting a vest with presewn pouches. Get molle/pals and configure it how you want.

You could try one of these for $25. They also have them in black and tan, but they cost a few bucks more.

Also, there are some pretty trick mag pouches out there now that open a different way. Zulu Nylon Gear lemme find the vid... http://zulunylongear.com/m4double.html Do Flaps on Rifle Magazine Pouches Really Get in the Way During a Reload? - YouTube I'm not saying buy these, but I am saying it's an idea I've been kicking around for a while, and you could easily modify a traditional pouch to work this way.

Not a vest per se, but if you're looking for magazine storage, OO is an excellent choice.
http://olongapooutfitters.com/index....ewCat&catId=10 I have a grab and go in Garand and Carbine. He makes excellent stuff.
