the top one already has been sold

That one has US made polymer stock,and a Tapco forend. nothing special done to it. its built of an UNFIRED romanian AK built in 1982. The scope rail has been welded on as i have had bad luck with the riveted ones eventually loosening up.

bottom one is MINE

74 style muzzle break, 74 forend, custom built (by me) fully adjustable rear tritium peep sight. The rear stock is just painted wood untill i get my new rear trunnion built and can put a ACE SOCOM stock on it.

Both are finished in Rustolium textured enamel baked on at 400* for an hour.

Ok i was asked the price to build one of these fuckers:

AK parts kit in your flavor: $100 to way too fuckin much, these are AK 47's from Romania (chome lined barrel) $100 shipped

ak receiver: $50 from here http://207.176.137.9/shop/index.asp

screw set: with drils and taps $20 (cant beat that) http://fng.mystarband.net/screwkit/ScrewKit.html

Fire control group can be got from assortment of places: $40 (US parts count)

stocks and shit are all options
the AK receiver place sells built AKs for an INSAINLY LOW price

for those that cant build. But if you have built a 4x4 you can build a fuckin AK

the top one cost $200 to build, sold for $425

and he got a good deal.

bottom one cost maybe $250 as it is.

for refrence of worth this one is $500 without a scope rail and built on a shitty reciever LINK

How did you weld the scope rail to your reciever? Right now mine's held on with screws, which come loose, even after using red locktite, and I've been thinking about welding it up.

What are you using, mig or tig? What wire and settings if mig? Just curious

ps. when ya gonna make a 74??

you know you want one... and 5.45x39 fawkin rocks, even though the ammo is a bit more expensive...

Thats bitchin Doc. Question for you about the reciever site, it says an FFL is required for every AK they sell, do you have one because of your military backround, or can anybody get one?

FFL's are not as easy to get now as they have been in the past, but it is possible to get one.

But ost people just go through an FFL dealer that's local to them. Basically the firearm company will ship the reciever to the FFL holder, who will then do the transfer to the buyer.

drilled threw the rail along the center and plug weld there and them small stitches along the side (1/2 in stitch,allow to FULLY cool between welds)
Using a MIG set on low with the slowest speed,let the puddle start on the reciever and then draw the edge of the rail into it.

It aint fuckin moving now

badkarma: no i have the reciever shipped to a FFL holder. now IMPORTANT NOTE !!!!!! if you want to build an AK pistol have the reciever signed as A PISTOL NOT A RIFLE. if ya want a rifle dont care.
a pistol can be a rifle but a rifle can NEVER EVER BECOME A PISTOL

Most have a transfer fee. Usually around 20 bucks or so, some charge more for pistols than rifles, just all depends on the dealer. Place I go through charges $15 per transfer regardless of the gun.

Hey doc a little off - topic but is there a posssible way to put a better stock on a Norinco mak- 90 ? I've seen the Dragunov type but just something more standard . thanks

Depends on the reciever on your mak... is it rounded or square?

dude that thing has so much useless crap on it that its not funny

The folding stock is ALL PLASTIC (buttstroke=SNAP!)

that whole tri-rail picatinny thing on the rear is useless (AK dust covers are not a tolerance part, every time you fire or even breath the scope would be out of zero)

the gas tube rail is "OK" but it blocks the iron sights.

the muzzle break on that thing is built for a tank

the only thing nice on it is the lower forend if you like verticle grips.

dumplin : what does the bottom rear edge of your reciever look like?

Doc, do you have to harden the slide area of the reciever? My local shop had about 20 stamped recievers that weren't bent up yet, and a note saying they needed to be hardened when complete.

mine are hardened from the factory (maker) you can temper them yourself well enuff to have no problems or you can send them to an annealing place for cheap
