attn:300sniper or dyeing polymer gun frames
This next session on queer guns for the strait guy we take a tacky grey S&W SW9V and make it a fashionable Olive drab green.
FABULOUS !!! now every body HATES the Sigma series S&W pistols. Why? because they have a trigger pull that was made harder than Benz0 at the SEMA show to make the anti-gun crowd happy. I showed you how to fix that here http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showt...ighlight=sigma Some people claim reliability issues. I have put 1k at least threw this gun with no malfunction at all using the cheapest ammo known to man. so i have no clue what they are talking about there. Its accurate as hell. frighteningly accurate. Its a fucking Glock clone. Its a Glock clone to the point Glock brought legal issues to S&W. I actualy replaced the plastic guide rod with a slightly modified stainless steel Glock guiderod. But one hate that I can agree to is the 1st generation was offered in the most funky "toy gun" like grey plastic frame shown here: ![]() WTF? the good thing is you can get these little bastards for dirt cheap because of that A lot of plastic can be dyed. I learned this in my R/C car days (LOTS of info can be got from R/C car forums on how to dye plastic) So I went and got some RIT dye with the goal of OD green, If I fucked it up It would be dyed black. Black covers up everything here is a rit dye mixing chart http://www.ritdye.com/color_recipes.asp You also will need the following: Kosher salt a pan big enough to put the fame in and cover with water laundry detergent. Strip the gun of anything you don't want dyed or can corrode. clean the shit out of the gun in the sink with dishwashing detergent to COMPLETELY degrease it. Fill the pan with it enough water to cover the gun and heat on the stove till its simmering. Add the dye, 1/4 cup salt, 1 tsp laundry detergent. Keep the mixture hot a little below simmering. "hot" is a good generic setting, just not "boiling" Dump the gun in and stir it around to make sure no air bubbles are on/in it. CHECK THE COLOR EVERY MIN OR SO !!! when it looks right pull it out and rinse well in cold water. let it completely dry and look at in different light (more on this later) if it needs to be darker, plop it back in. If you are doing black just leave the fucker in for a half hour, turn off the stove and remove it when its cool. Its black, you cant fuck it up. and TAADAAAAA one OD green pistol on ass of course ![]() some notes: The color of my pistol is different in different light. In direct sun its obviously OD green. In tungsten light its a muddy brown/green. The pistol is not finished as i will be coating the slide black. If you notice my pistol has an accessory rail Its a fucking plastic frame gun so drill and mount away. I took a cheap ass picatinny rail and ground it till it was the right height and perfectly matched the profile of the frame. Its held in place by 2 button head screws that are in the inside. They had to be ground down a little to clear the slide. Its quite solid. The dye color will not go completely threw the frame. you have to use a pressure dye method to do that. its deep enough that you cant scratch it but if you drill into the frame you can see it. And if it pisses me off i will just dye it black. Black can be re-dyed easily

So you used the glock guide, what did you have to do to make it work? I was looking into the lasermaxx for a glock and trying to make it work.

(actualy I have no clue how it holds a zero in a glock) It would only stick out a tiny bit more than a glock. the only issue I can think of is the slide catch/power thing is going to work as I dont have a glock to compare mine to. Get one from a place that has no problems with returns and give is a shot. If it does work make sure you post up how well it works

HEY! I want my money back! There is no gun in that pic
All I see is a NICE ass!I bought my last wife a Sigma 380 when they came out. I conveniently repo'd it when things started going south. Good little concealed pocket gun. A little anemic with the 380 though. The Sigmas do have a nice grip angle. Mine was black... gun that is.

ok i'm here now! i was at my mom's house for christmas today. when there was some slow time i jumped on her computer to check out pbb. of course the first thing that catches my eye is this thread. i was looking at the before and after pictures and skimming over the text. my mom decided to look over my shoulder at this time to see what i am looking at. i was so curious about the gun i didn't even notice the ass. i don't think my mom did either as she didn't say anything about it
.any way it looks good (both ). that may be enough convincing for me to try it. it is still scary with an irreplaceable (for me living in ca) weapon. i may try it in od green first just to be different. if it's no good i can allways do black.

Sometimes I hate that my sensible side keeps me from blowing wads of cash on things like handguns
