Color my AK (poll)

Finished the milled Yugoslavian AK with custom oak swell palm grips and now its time for duracoating what sucks is there was too many small pits and my TIG job is not the best in the world so blueing is out.
I filled all of the pits with JB weld and metal filler but I need a color.
First off it will be glossy I own no shiny AK's but we will figure it all out.

I have a OMFG respect for the fuckers that milled these bitches out in the first place if any of you wonder why a milled receiver is $500 bucks I know why OK with CNC you only have to do it once but just with milling new side plates WITH rails as one piece I don't think I would want to do one from just a hunk of steel.

These were fun to make. Laminated 1" thick oak planks carved out. You have to really look to find the seams to show they are not one peice. and sorry they do not line up in the pic as the rear metal retainer is off, but they are perfect when its on

I am also making a violin case for it when its done

I also have to figure the stamping I want (if any) and how to do it as well.

wait for poll and color choices

I have a feeling you already know what color you want it. You just want to pimp the pics of your dumb gun

That thing is nice I vote for blue titanium!

actualy, no I am seriously going to go with what is voted.
I was thinking "blued" color, then black..then "old parkerized greenish" so I have no fucking idea.
I should have taken pick of the side plates when I made them, anyone who has tried to build one of these knows how fun the left side is to make "right".

Its going to get a few coats of durafill, then color and maybe a clearcoat.

I like the idea of any of the blue tints - should contrast well with the furniture and give it a well.. 'blued' look. Might be neet

I have some extra "Goddess" purple I'll be happy to send you.

Of your choices I think the blue titanium would look great with that wood.

its near perfect I hate body work because I am anal about it I am thinking of fitting the dustcover to the gun as there are some slight curves in it to even the gap

oak with "somethin spar" urathene, no stain

The "cover up" work will look right nice regardless of color then.

Must say that fer a non BP shooter type hardware its looking good.

I can feel a couple thou difference where my fill is due to me wanting to leave a "tooth" for the coating, the durafill should solve that.

I keep going "Its milled, milled = perfect/flat/strait/square...but its a fucking AK = shoot while horseshoe shaped"

The handguard was a fun project but with a few mistakes, I know where they are and I will not point them out
btw: I fucking hate woodworking
