far as I have gotten,see the too many projects post...I made 4 or 5 magwells, by machining them out of a solid block of 4140, but never got the mag release to work right.

okay, I dug two of the rear halves out of the drawer(the rest was tossed in the trash) and have restarted working on this project...

I hate you guys...

Mine are both accounted for - sorry. The mag release on the drums is very very very basic - what was the problem?

What I found while dickin with the mag release is that since the nub on the suomi drums is prety small, the contact edge of the mag retainer needs to be prety sharp. Also, putting the retaining lever pivot as close to the mag as possible helps keep the mag from wobbling too much when seated. Here's where mine is at, it seems to function. I havent shot a mag full but I've fired one round a few times and it cycled and fed the next round so I'm hoping it will work. I havent gotten a chance to make my kickass thumb activated safety work on this receiver but I'll get to it.
