FN/FAL carbon fiber full floating fore end

I wanted a full floating hand guard for my FAl for some time but the 2 things that prevented me from buying one were either a shitty design or way too high of a price. That and every ones is offered only in aluminum.
And you all know I am a cheap bastard when it comes to gun shit so I built my own
for a total investment of $13 I had a length of 2in ID carbon fiber and a bunch of 2in OD aluminum pucks. I could have done this in all aluminum but it would not be nearly as pimp

First made the "pucks" This one is for the front

its job is to add shape and stiffness to the end of the tube
Then I made the rear one in a 2 piece clamshell design

The "tail" thing you see sticking out is where I cut away the bottom half as the barrel is too thick for it to clamp there effectively. I went and measured different distances on the barrel (as it tapers) and used the same size drill and stopped at key depths. Seeing as I do not have a CNC multi axis mill this is the best way to achieve a tapering hole I also cross drilled and countersunk for 2 6-32 stainless cap screws that fit nicely between the gas tube and the barrel. When its clamped down it holds onto the gas tube base and the barrel but NOT the gas tube. Like I said, full floating.

After making sure everything fit (and it did for some odd reason) I cut the carbon fiber tube and made it fit the contours of the shit on top

I then clamped it all together and made marks where the 8-32 cap screws were going to go. took it all apart, drilled tapped, you get the idea
and TAAA DAAAA

It is not only screwed together but also epoxied to the pucks. it is VERY stiff. much stiffer than the factory hand guard
here is a fuzzy pic of the "muzzle" end

I picked up a fal that some dude shot corrosive ammo through and destroyed the barrel.
Got it for like $400 and came with a spare barrel.
sent the spare barrel to.....fuck........someone from here 4runner? animator?......fuck, I don't feel like looking for the thread well anyway they cut the barrel and threaded it. I pulled the old barrel. fixed the receiver brow and installed the new barrel. checked the headspacing and made all sorts of nifty shit for it like:
vertical take down lever with knurled knob
extended and widened magazine release
"fixed" extended safety
adapted a forward assist charging handle

you get the idea
total investment into the gun so far is maybe $600 (minus the EOtech) the gun is worth ??? i dunno

if you gently allow the bolt forward because you don't want to make noise the bolt will not lock as it does not have the momentum. The forward assist allows me to "hand chamber" a round.
