School me in pistols

So I'd like some input from you guys:

I'm in the market to buy a gun... More specifically a pistol. This would be primarily used making neat holes in paper targets and home defense. I'm not big on hunting and I live in a pretty good neighborhood so "people stopping power" is not really important. I'm more in the market for accuracy and knocking over 7-11s .

I went shooting today and shot 4 guns. A "baby" desert eagle .40, a .45 (S&W I think), a Glock 9mm and a "Baby" Desert Eagle 9mm. And in the past I have shot with other brands .45s and 9mms. It seems that Glock anything I shoot, sucks. The .45 is a bit to much for me so I think I am going to stick to .40 or a 9mm.

I spent most of my time with a "baby" desert eagle 9mm and LOVED IT. That would be this guy:

So what is the general PBB consensus on that guy (the "baby" desert eagly 9mm)? Is there another gun, that you guys have liked, I should try out? Should I stick to squirt guns ?

Thanks guys

I've never shot one, but generally have read fairly good reviews on them from people online (for what that's worth)

try shooting a SIG? you can pick up a 226 and get different barrels for it, so you could have a 9mm, .40, .45 in one gun. The grip should be similar to the baby eagle (or at least from the looks), very oval and fits in the hand great. I loved my 226 in 9mm but sold it a week ago (needed $$ and it was too nice of a 9mm for me)

The Baby Eagles are good guns. It sounds like you are comfortable with it , and like shooting it. Buy it and shoot the shit out of it.

Like Azzy said, The baby eagle is not a bad little gun. Magnum research makes good weapons.

Givin what you want to do with the gun I would definatly suggest a 9mm (or even a smaller cal). The ammo is cheap and your wrist won't get tired of shooting it at the cans, ever.

cool thanks guy... I'll see about trying out a sig for the next time I go out. I'm going to try shooting .40 and 9mm guns to see which ammo I would prefer... But I will stick to the baby eagle 9mm if I don't find anything better. Aside from .40, .45 and 9mm, is there any other ammo worth shooting in a pistol?

10mm is a nice, but rather expensive round. I assume since you're only talking auto rounds that's all you shoot. But I'll also shoot .38 and .357mag, along with .44 and .45lc. Plenty of good handgun ammo to shoot once you get past the autoloading bricks

Really? I've heard nothing but bad about the Desert Eagles, jam, inaccurate. From people that have them and others that have shot them, so I've always stayed away from them.

I havent heard anything like that , but that doesnt mean it doesnt happen.

JUst something to consider as well. Limp wristing a pistol can cause the jams/stovepipes... and the inaccuracies could be attributed to people jerking the trigger or whincing because they are about to pop off a .44mag or .50AE
