Food plots
I know there many hunters here......how many of you plant food plots to promote a healthier herd?
What is it that you plant?

I plant them. This year I used Dwarf Essex Rape, Ladino Clover, and feed oats. Next year, I'll do the same, minus the oats. My deer didn't seem to like them that well.

If you consider a few hundred acres of corn and beans a food plot, then yes.
Seriously though, started a food plot this past spring but don't remember what mix it was. It's been holding the deer fairly well all season. We didn't hunt it this year and will add a perimeter of corn to it this spring. At another farm, we're planning on a few acres here and there of corn and will let it stand until late Dec. |

food plots are gay imo. We have too many flippin deer as is we don't need to be feeding them more.

We have too many deer too. In fact, the season was extended until Feb because there are too many. The reason for the plot is to hold deer where I want them instead of out playing in traffic.
