Hi-point 9mm rifle info
A guy down the road is getting divorced, hard up for cash so I bought a Hi-Point 9mm rifle.
It was given to me partially assembled, and some parts in a bag. I still have a square piece about 2" long, 1" wide with a U shape in the center (it looks like a flat psring or retainer clip for something). Where does this piece go? I put the gun together without this piece or the heat shield. I shoots fine (relative term). My over all opinion is the gun is a hunk of crap, and after I burn a few hundred rounds through it, clean it up, I am selling it to try to get my money back. It is about a big a hunk of crap as those mac 10s, and other pop metal clunkers. Yeah, you pull the trigger a bunch of times and it goes [bang, bang, bang, bang] and that is about it. This is the rifle: 9mm Carbine http://www.hi-pointfirearms.com/carbine.asp

They have an exploded diagram on the website.
Apparently the "extra part" is a receiver clip and is not necessary to fire the rifle
