Back when I lived in So. Cal. I used to carry part time.
Unable to get a permit in LA county and I didn't feel like breaking the law all the time.
Always have a gun when camping, no matter where (except of course my Canadian adventure)

Now that I am in Colorado, and could get a permit if I took the class, I have not done it and don't carry (except for camping as mentioned before).

I don't feel the need here.

Maybe i am blind to the potential threats here, but I just doesn't cross my mind.

With the exception of a car-jacking, the only times you WOULD need a concealed weapon is away from your truck. You need to rethink your logic on how and when you should be carrying.

For the record, I carry all the time I can, including in my own dwelling (so long as I'm not in my skivies)

Have a license and carry.
Don't ever leave a weapon in the car unless I am also in the car.

IIRC in Colorado you are legally allowed to have a loaded handgun in your vehicle for personal protection without a permit. Maybe the law has changed since I lived there two years ago but that's how it was when I was there.

The castle doctrine does apply to a vehicle here in CO. Hasn't changed.

And getting the permit is relatively easy and painless. If you don't already have the qualifications, the course is 100-150$ depending on who you go through.
Permit lasts for 5 years.

I generally keep mine in the vehicle with me but intend to start carrying more often.

This is still true.

I just don't feel the need.

But of corse when there is one, it will be too late.

I voted anywhere I can but usually only have it in the car right now. My only handgun is a p90 and I may as well carry a 12ga. The damn thing is just too big. I want to a an SW Airlight .357 to carry all the time. Those things are sweet, and tiny

My Glock 23 goes just about everywhere I do.

Those airweight .357s are great little pieces for carry, but they kick like mules with full power loads.

I carry when I feel like it. Can't to work, so that breaks the habit pretty easily actually.

I carry in the vehicle at all times. I can't carry at work 'cause I almost always work in a state building.

I carry everywhere I'm allowed , except at work. It is hard enough welding out of position under a drag car without having a fullsize .45 poking you in the side too.. And I dont really feel the need to carry at work.. I can get to the car in less than 10 seconds if I really need to.

I've been looking at the S&W .357 airweight also... seems like it would be a great carry piece.

This suprises me. I would have thought you had yours already. Isn't really easy to get one if you were or are in the military? It is in GA
