Whos done the 10/22 Krinker Plinker conversion or similar?
Okay so ive been looking at the Krinker Plinker conversion kit for my 10/22 (or one of them). It looks pretty neat, its pretty high priced though and im wondering if its worth it to do to it.
![]() Heres the link: http://www.krinkerplinker.com/ Ive found this link as well: http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...ad.php?t=31653 And heres one in at sportsmansguide.com for 300: http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=244483 It looks like its pretty good, despite that review up there ive only heard good things. One of the problems with this conversion is if i did it id want a high capacity mag of some sort. Which isn't made for the 10/22. Well, I take that back, they are, they're just mostly junk. I have a 25 and 30 shot that work most of the time but sometimes they give me trouble (the hot lips steel ones) And I have a butler creek 50 shot mag (JUNK! Cracked in minutes). And they also make the Pro-mag 50-round drum found here: http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/MAG414-55173-1341.html Ive heard lots of bad reviews on that thing, some can get it to work most cant as you read on the website just linked. One thing i havent tried is the tear-drop shaped 50-round clips(unknown supplier) as found here: http://www.rimfiresports.com/merchan...ategory_Code=M There would be almost no point to putting the the conversion kit on without a decent, reliable high capacity magazine. So, Anybody done it?

It's a waste of a perfectly good AKS-74 stock. no thanks.
The pro mag drums are crap, the teardrops can be problematic as well. I have heard nothing but good things about the Tactical Innovations magazines expensive but damn near bulletproof http://www.tacticalinc.com/ti25-adva...022-p-532.html |

I'm beginning to think your right, and especially for 300. The magazine i have is just like that, but you cant take it apart. I have good luck with it but some trouble sometimes, Im gonna pick one up like that (ordering now) and try it out. |

It seems pretty stupid to me. If you want a krink, just buy a parts kit, have one built and do the SBR paperwork.
I have never had any bad luck with the Buttler creek 25 shot mags. The eagles feel a bit cheap. I have never seen one of the 50rnd. mags work very well. I wouldn't bother. They are making folders for 10-22 again. |

So the only merit to that thing is that it looks like a sinister "black" rifle? For that kind of money, you can build a tricked out 10-22 with a decent stock and a bull barrel that you could actually hit something with.

I picked one up from Cheaper than dirt and i'ts junk. Mismatched metals that are corroding and the fact that a round struck the end fake suppressor leaving what looks like a zit on the end
I won't be shooting this gun again until converted back.

I can not see the point in spending money to modify a weapon to look like something else.
