What kind of side folder? If it's the plastic tapco one, sell it to some moron because they are total crap, poorly constructed, too long, and look lousy on top of all that.

And www.nodakspud.com for receivers of course.

Midwest armory has a good deal on compliance parts packages. www.midwestarmory.com

It is a Romy lever type folder. I will check the links, thank you.

Another question, Docs excellent thread recommends Joken (Joeken?) receivers but I have heard bad things about the company. Does anyone know if this is the same company?

Good choice on the Romy lever, great stocks.

Joeken is the devil, do not order from those scumbags. The Ewbanks receivers they peddle are crap as well, I've built on two of them and have put less effort into building TAPCO flats into receivers. Horn ones are sold though Joeken so don't even bother trusting them with your money. Horn is a seperate company but they are/were closely tied to Joeken.

Nodak Spud receivers are damn near plug and play, they make it almost too easy to put an AK together. You don't need to order the premium receivers unless you're serious about authenticity, the standards work just fine.

They still make them, still too long, still have the selector hole issue, they don't seem worried enough to change them.

Sounds like I need a Nodak, if I can decipher the codes in their online catalog.

NDS-1 if you want a really historically accurate kick ass receiver with all the little details

NDS-3 if you don't care about the little details and want an easy to build kick ass receiver for less money.

Global trades receivers are made very well. They work I have built about four different rifles on them. I would not go with the 1.6mm receiver, as it makes the build more difficult and the added strength is unneccessary.

Compared to everything else out there, yeah they are.

It is the only stock I've seen break itself while somebody was bumpfiring, with the stock extended no less.

Excuse the hi-jack here, but I'm a little confused. Does buying a 100% receiver, like the NDS-1 or NDS-3 require an FFL or not?

I have several AKs built off both the NDS-1 and NDS-3 from NODakSpud and I would recommend either one. Great guys to deal with, send em your list and money order. Few days later go to your FFL and pickup your new toys.

Legal note: I don't "live" in NJ just go to school here and my guns are all in a legal state so
