Other firearm sites?
AlohaRovar's jab got me to thinking, what other sites do I visit regularly or semi-regularly?
I used to frequent a number of boards, but I've been busy the last few years and the only one's I regularly peruse seem to be www.marlinowners.com www.rimfirecentral.com though I bounce around the net researching and reading from most any forum I can find, I don't post on them. I prefer here and BR since I don't have to be PC. I occasionally pop in on www.sigforums.com, they have a serious no BS filter.

Glocktalk and Marlinowners. I can't stand Marlinowners, as I have an 1894 in .357 and it seems no one has any information on them, rarely do I get any questions answered and typically when I do I get refered to another site. I guess I just expcect too much out of the BB's I visit. Glocktalk was good for info when I first started with my Glock, but now I read it more out of humor then anything. All the sub-forums really dilute the info and I really can't stand all the experts stating their thin opinions as fact.

Marlin Talk was on Marlin's corporate site. It's where most of us stated out. When the lawyers made them pull the plug (reloading pissing matches in the Big Bore Forum) Larry set up marlinowners. If it's any consolation I think a lever in .357 would be awesome.
The Squirrel hunt is a hoot. It's been getting a little crazier every year. This year they had naked women from the bar on the picnic tables doing things that I couldn't post pics about and crawling into tents. Aside from that it is a hell of a great time. 300,000 acres of forrest to hunt in, primitive camping, and lots of BSing and beer drinking around the campfire. Good times.

Why so bitter? You were part of the great AZHTF purge were you not? What happened with that shit anyway? There are a lot of fucktards over at arfcom, but some damn good info, and good deals in the EE too.

The big problems I have with that site is the huge amount of wannabes and the self righteous assbag owners and mods. They run it for the money and say they aren't. The website looks like a copy of shotgun news with all the damn ads on it. Then there's the personal vendettas. Ed, the head guy there constantly hunts for troll accounts that he thinks are mine. Since I use megaproxy.com to access non PC websites while at work, pretty much anyone who tries logging on to arfcom with a megaproxy account gets banned and the reason(if they get one) is that they are my troll account. The funny part is, the paranoid bastard is looking for something and banning people over something that doesn't exist. The other problem I have is that the right hand man of that site(aimless) is a shitstain new yawk lawyer who defends illegal immigrants for a living. That is why the purges started in the AZHTF, he didn't like people talking badly about his customer base, not to mention that Ed himself came to this country illegally from Cuba.(later pardoned by whatever prez was in office) So yeah, fuck arfcom. |

There's another one!
Ted and I went round and round over the National CCW for police officers. I think he was ready to break out the banhammer for a while, but the thread went 32 pages. Quote:
EDIT: That stuff aside Ed Sr. is a Combat Vet AFAIK and a Medical Doctor. Neither are trifling accomplishments.

I don't know what he does for a living other than spend membership money from his son in law's website. Yes he's a combat vet, so am I, so are many people on this board and others. And if my actions are any clue, even combat vets can be douchebags.

![]() Not my point though, he's at least not a freeloader. AFAIK he is a pathologist and he owns arf. One of his sons started it and the other now runs it, or something like that. I don't know if there is still the guise of not being a business or not, don't care. It was fun when it was like the wild wild west.

Though I still feel the biggest douchebags are the guys that are the typical armchair experts, "depend on the firearms for their life", do it all except actually doing it types. I heard, I read, a friend of mine, it cost more so must be better folks. ![]() Pete

Here are a few with good info. The low Kool-aid Drinker count is a plus, also.
