at least according to Ebay.

Bunch of my auctions got canceled because I had violated their no weapons policy.

"The auction-style listing was removed because it violated the eBay Firearms, Weapons, and Knives policy. We notified members who placed bids on the item that the listing has been canceled.
The sale of weapons is highly regulated by the government, and these items can harm the eBay Community. For these reasons, eBay restricts the sale of weapons to a very few types, and these sales can take place only under very specific conditions. eBay does not allow members to sell any parts or accessories for firearms that are defined as assault weapons by federal or California law."

I wrote back "This is a scope not a weapon"

And they responded

"Dear Peter,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to your listing which was removed.

I've reviewed your listing and can confirm that it was removed
correctly. Please understand that the sale of any assault weapon-related
parts or accessories as defined by federal or California law is not
permitted on eBay, because selling these items is highly regulated by
the government or may be illegal in some areas."

I did.

I know many people would say F ebay. Use gun broker.
Well I do 10k in sales on ebay vs 1k on gun broker. Same items, same prices. People just don't use GB that much.

Until a week ago, I had an ebay store selling scopes, stocks, etc. I got tired of ebay ending my auctions so I closed it. You are right, more sales on ebay, but I just got fed up with the BS. They would end things like collapsible stocks, aimpoint scopes, ACOG's like yours, etc. I may keep listing some leupold and nikon stuff in the future, but I haven't decided yet. If your auction says anything in it about AR or AK they will end it. Fawk Ebay.

The thing that really pisses me off...
I was selling Magpul stuff. They cancelled some since they "assualt weapon parts".
I was told if I continued to list these items my ebay account would be closed.
I asked how come there are a couple of large stores selling tons of magpul stuff.
"We rely on our customers to report listing violations"
I said you have someone that is selling a couple dozen CTRs each month. His listing read word for word the same as mine.
How come his ebay account isnt getting closed?

its very aggrevating.

A couple years back, I was selling tasers on ebay. At the time, stun guns were fine to sell on ebay (don't think they are now). Anyway, I went around and around with them because they claimed a taser is a firearm because it fired projectiles. I stood my ground and they did eventually delete my account. I am done giving ebay my money.

there is no federal listing of aw weapons, only ca has them and it requires a center fire reciver and any one of the evil items bolted to said reciver.
