pro FFL house bill

Was just reading the ILA section of American Rifleman about house bill HR 4900

I have not seen this mentioned here yet. I know many folks opinions about the NRA but this particular bill does read like something I strongly support.

The article in the mag made mention of how FFL-07 manufacturers are being told that they must also register with the State Department as a Defence Manufacturer. Cople k license and almost impossible process. I had not heard this before but that does worry me.

OK, I was confused for a minute. You are talking about H.R. 4900 — the “Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Reform and Firearms Modernization Act.”

It looks like a good bill. I have a letter to my Rep. asking him to cosponser it.

This bill seeks to overturn the barrel/receiver import ban, sort of.
SEC. 209. BARREL AND RECEIVER IMPORTATION.

(a) In General- Section 925(e) of title 18, United States Code, is amended--

(1) in paragraph (1), by striking `, and' and inserting a period;

(2) by adding at the end the following:

`(3) All frames or receivers of rifles, or barrels for firearms other than handguns, if the importation is for repair or replacement purposes.'.

(b) Governmental Imports- Section 925(a)(1) of such title is amended by inserting `, barrel,' after `or importation of any firearm'.
