Your Opinion Please: Ruger P345, SR9
While I love the 1911 style pistols and will eventually have one, I am currently somewhat price restricted to approx $500 or so..
I am considering the Ruger line, specifically the P345 (Polymer .45 ACP) and the SR9 (9mm, 17+1) This is mainly for CCW. I am 6'1", 180# dripping wet, and will carry primarily IWB tucked. I wear mainly polo shirts and Button Down Dress Shirts. What say Ye, O mighty PBB?

For $500, I would look at Glocks, S&W M&P, XD's or a Sig Pro. I have shoot the P345 and was not impressed at all. I have not shot the SR9. Ruger rifles and revolvers are good stuff, but I can't stand the P series pistols. They are heavy as hell, triggers are horrible, and the grips are to damned fat to shot comfortable.

I'd 2nd that. For me, the sub $500 pistol market has 3 that I'd consider--XD, M&P, and Glock in that order. |
