How to make a 10/30 AK Magazine

I can't seem to find anything, anyone interested in sharing how they converted there 30rd AK mag to 10rd's?

x2. this CANT be that hard.

drill a hole in the appropriate spot(s) put a bolt (or dowel pin or___) thru, weld the pin in place so that its permanent.

Drill and a couple pop rivits.

Disassemble the mag.
Put the follower back in.
Insert ten rounds.
Measure from the bottom of the mag to the bottom follower.
Remove rounds and follower
Drill one hole in the front and one hole in the rear of the mag body.
Insert follower and spring back into body.
Install pop rivet.

even easier than I was thinking. and pop rivets can be removed if necessary.

Or just cut a delrin block, and slide it in between the floorplate and the follower. Snip the spring to fit.

Done.

And it can be reversed if you want, unlike a welded pin.

There is much conversation as to wether or not that is permanent enough.

CA-DOJ I guess wont give any official ruling. Guess it all depends on the prosecuting DA and the judge

A welded pin isn't reversable?

Grinding or drilling a spot weld is stupid-simple to do if needed.

I hope not - because I was commenting on it from the end-user view, not from the stupid-lawmaker view.

I'm just saying that an end user who used a pin and spot weld method could de-CA these mags in short order should the need arise (moving out of CA, Godzilla attacks, zombies overthrow the government, etc.)

Iffen I had some 30's and I wanted to use them in CA I would only convert a couple of them and leave the others just in case of zombies, etc.

meh, ANYTHING is reversable, given the time.

But it takes a lot less effort to pop off a floorplate and shake out a block.

Dunno about CA-legal. I've never concerned myself with what is or isn't legal by CDOJ standards. But the block is plenty legal in most states with magazine limits for hunting.
