...but the aftermarket support for them sucks ass. The best quality for your money and extremely accurate I just adore these little jewels, from my mod. 60's to my 883. But what do you do when you want more?

First of you gotta remove the barrel and do a lil sanding.

Then you havta suck it up and cut up a brand new (nothing wrong with it shoots fine) gun.

Now I clamped it for some reason...

Oh that was to let the glue and filler dry...sorry.

Now the pen trick. Remove the trigger and spring.

Find a nice pen...papermater or pilot.

Remove the sring from you clicker pen and... voila! 8lbs of pull to 3-3.5lbs on the trigger.

The end product.

I still got a lil work to on the camo but tomorrow is another day.

BTW it still works well too.

BTW chit chat HGTD here... too much fawkin sanding will cause posting problems.

Looks like a lot of work. Are you going to put a layer or two of fiberglass over the whole thing to give it additional strength?

If it were a centerfire I would for sure but I don't forsee any problems but time will tell.

I was thinking the same thing. I *adjusted* the factory stock on a 10/22 a long time ago and the biggest mistake I made was not reassembling the fcg during the process. I put the trigger guard back in a few times, but it didn't have the trigger installed. The trigger ended up >< that much too far from the grip. The OPs grip looks even farther away from the trigger than what I ended up with. I hope it works out for him.

It is. I got the length of pull correct but I made the grip way too far back. Luckily I have long fingers and it still works "okay". For $12.98 it was an excellent learning experience and I only used the limited tools I had at hand...namely a chisel, router, jigsaw, and sandpaper.

Yep, I was refering to matching by meaning the paint jobs. The other two are H&R survivor .308's, haven't done much to them other than minor stuff.

I know the butt stock is ugly but in my defense I didn't have a picture to go by since I don't have internet at the house and I left my midway catalogue in the crapper at work. I did have a vague image of what it should look like...which apprently was actually a paddle.

It may get redone but prolly not anytime soon because the damn thing is just too fun to shoot and a few days down time sucked.
