Concealed carry for fatties?

Hi, my name is Dieselmh and I'm 6'2", 350 lbs. That's not all muscle. In fact, I'd be willing to bet that at least half of it is not muscle, therefore I'm fat! That being said, I know I'm not the only fatty here that has a CCW, so I'm looking for ideas on how my fellow fatties carry their weapons comfortably and safely.

My two carry weapon options are a little Glock 26 9mm and a little Titanium Taurus 38 spcl. Being a fatty means that I have a belly and love handles that protrude over my belt, which means that holsters that sit above the belt line aren't usable because they'll stick out. SOB carry is no good because I spend a lot of time getting into and out of vehicles and chairs and have yet to find a way to carry SOB without it either working it's way loose, or being extremely uncomfortable. I have a shoulder holster and a holster that works great in a jacket pocket, but both of those options require a jacket and here in Texas, that's not an option for over 3/4 of the year. I also have an ankle holster for the 38, which works well, but let's face it, the speed at which you can access an ankle holster is pretty bad, and it's even worse when you're fat. There's no way in hell I'd be able to gain access to it in a hurry, without it being blatantly obvious.

So, what are you fellow fatties using for concealment? What do you like about it, not like, wish was different, etc? And yes, I know that losing weight is the best option, but let's face it, with my history of weight loss and gain, I'm better off having as many options as I can.

A nice good quality pocket holster in your front pocket should be plenty comfortable with the .38. That's how I often carry, because it's easily accessible, and the Phoenix climate doesn't lend itself to shoulder holsters or ankle holsters that require additional layers of clothing.

Barring that, you could always stuff it in your bra.

I don't have a CCW, but my buddy carries his 1911. He has an in-pant holster...and he's got a bad case of dunlop. He seems to be completely satisfied with his.

He also has a keltec 380 that he puts in his pocket, and it looks like a pocket knife clip sticking out.

The front pocket carry is fine in khakis, but my jeans aren't as roomy!

I can't do the bra carry. I'd go to draw my weapon, find my boobs, and be so preoccupied with playing with them that I'd get shot.

Like I said, I need to be able to get to it quickly. You have any idea how much time it takes to check all the rolls?

Just don't go to a nightclub with it tucked into your sweatpants.

Just try a few out at your local gun dealer see what fits right, Mine change depending on what season it is and where I am fishing/hiking/carrying.

I like my smartcarry.
I'm the opposite of you, so rail thin that anything near my belt line get's imprinted on my pants. No one has detected the ruger yet in the smartcarry, even after I've told friends I was carrying they didn't believe me. This is with a ruger p94.

Have you tried off to one side or the other, rather than the actual SOB? I have found mine to fit comfortable with the handle pointing to the outside on the right hand side rear, above my wallet pocket. An IWB holster that can be moved over would work. I am still trying to find the right holster for that location for myself.
For me, it is the most comfortable and easy to access.

FWIW, I am 6', 280. Carrying a Glock 23.

*smart ass reply*

Lose some fawking weight.

In the mean time did you consider a shoulder rig? Theres also shirts similar to underarmor that have CC pockets sown into them just like if you were using a shoulder holster. You make it sound like anything in the pants is not possible because of the rolls, and I'm gonna guess that unless you have some freakish agility for your size a ankle holster wouldn't be too practical?

Having just sold one of those shirts, I'm not sure it's the ideal solution for Dieselmh.

They are usually made of a compression type fabric (think stretchy like lycra) My problem is that they weren't available in a tall size. Couple that with my mid-thirties moderate love handles, and as I moved around throughout the day, the shirt wasn't long enough to stay below my love-handles and It would ride up.

Having it all bunched up above my bellybutton wasn't really comfortable.

It was comfortable as fawk if I didn't move though.

Given Diesel's height and girth, I think it may not be the right application for him. For a smaller person, they are GREAT for deep cover, if you aren't worried about needing to get to your gun all that fast.

I by no means am a small boy, 6'1" 275lbs. I conceal carry a S&W snub .357 mag with an IWB that I can move around and I usually wear it off center of my back. I also carry in a shoulder holster during the winter under sweatshirts and jackets.
